I spent most of the morning cleaning out my closet. I don't have the best space to work with and i had way to many clothes that just weren't my style any more. My style is a lot more grown up this year and i found myself getting rid of alot of band t shirts and graphic prints... I'm trying to apply the "10 Item Wardrobe" to my closet, but obviously not just keep only 10 things. I've come up with a list of 10 basics that really describe who i am and then i have made my closet revolve around those 10 things.

Its time to get this blog up and running the way i want it. Its a chance to make a few style resolutions that are easy and that make sense. Its the time after we have stuffed our faces in holiday feasts and binged drank on eggnog, when gym attendance is at its all time high.

1. Every new year i try to find small ways to enhance my style that won't cost a fortune or a new closet. In 2013 i'm going to add more basics in neutral colors, every girl needs a couple versatile basic wardrobe staples.. like the iconic little black dress or loose fitting t shirts.
You'd think that it would be obvious to buy more clothes in neutral colors because you can get a lot more use out of them but i was stuck in the mindset that neutral colors are boring. I must rid my of that thought! Neutrals are actually fun to play with. American Apparel has my favorite basics, i think its worth the price.

2. I'm also really loving faux fur in small doses, i recently found this vest at Urban Outfitters. Its easy to dress up or down.

3. I recently read "lessons from madame chic", and i read it because i have an obsession with french culture but what i really took away from it was the "10 item" wardrobe and buy "investment pieces."
